Don’t stay in this Independence Day. Instead go out and participate in some of the 4th of July events in Columbia, IL, such as the Bike Parade and Celebration in American Legion Park.
Starting at noon at the ICS Parking Lot, the CROWN Bike Parade travels down to the American Legion and includes bikes decorated in simple and fantastic ways. Participants can compete for several prizes as well as for the recognition of their friends and neighbors.
The 4th of July Celebration at American Legion Park begins at 11am and runs until 11pm. It includes a variety of activities including Bingo, Washers, and Kloepper Cards. Music is played throughout the day by DJs, and children can play carnival games or go on rides. Food is also available at concession booths and includes traditional picnic and bar-b-que style foods such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and pulled pork.
Attendance at the celebration is free and you are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and set yourself picnic-style for the day.
